Biography

At the 1948 London Olympics Austrian gymnast Willi Welt finished ninth with the team and 123rd, and last, individually in the all-around events. Four years later at Helsinki, he placed 11th with the team and 95th individually. Welt was also the Austrian flagbearer at the 1952 opening ceremony. Domestically, Welt represented Union Wien (Vienna).
