Biography

Finland’s Paavo Roininen was a three-time national boxing champion who represented Kokkolan Jymy. Roininen won the Finnish title at three different weights from 1958 to 1961. He also won the TUL championship in 1957 and 1960, and was the Nordic champion in 1961. Roininen fought as a bantamweight at the 1960 Roma Olympics where he lost to Great Britain’s Frankie Taylor.
