Biography

Gymnast Peter Weber started with the mixed German team at the 1964 Tokyo Olympics. He won a bronze medal with the team and placed 16th on the rings as his best individual result, placing 21st in the individual all-around. Four years later in Mexico City he added another team bronze, by then representing East Germany. In 1968 his best individual finish was 21st in the parallel bars, and he placed 26th in the individual all-around. In 1966, he claimed another team bronze at the Worlds in Dortmund. Domestically Weber won three championships, two on the rings (1964, 1967) and one on the floor (1965), with 13 other podium finishes. After his active career he was national head coach from 1971-83.
