Biography

Pavel Gajdoš was a Czechoslovak gymnast who was a 13-time national champion. Gajdoš started with gymnastics on home-built equipment with the aim of becoming a top gymnast. With the Czechoslovakia team, he won two bronze medals at the Gymnastics World Championships, the first in 1958, and the second in 1962.

Gajdoš represented Czechoslovakia at two Olympic Games. At the 1960 Roma Olympics the Czechoslovak team just missed out on a medal, finishing in fourth place. At the 1964 Tokyo Olympics Czechoslovakia could not improve on their previous result, with the team finishing in sixth place.

After his competitive career, Gajdoš became a coach. He later became involved in military sport with the Czechoslovak Army. Gajdoš retired in 1993 with the rank of colonel.
