Biography

Left winger Hans-Jürgen Bode belonged to the West German handball team that finished sixth after losing the match for fifth place 17-16 against the Soviet Union, at the 1972 München Olympics. He won 59 international caps and scored 76 goals. Domestically, he played with Berliner SV 92, Füchse Berlin, Hamburger SV and VfL Bad Schwartau, between 1966-81.

Braun was also active in athletics, in the international pentathlon, and was an avid tennis player, competing in senior championships. By profession, he qualified as a graduated engineer, economic consultant, energy manager and real estate manager, and worked as a freelancer. In addition to his job, he was also a handball coach
