Biography

Jaroslav Škarvan played handball for the Czechoslovakia national team during the 1960s and 1970s. Škarvan began his handball career in his hometown of Plzeň, before playing for ASC Dukla in Praha. Domestically, Škarvan was a five-time Czechoslovak champion. In 1967, Škarvan was part of the Czechoslovakian team that won the gold medal at the World Handball Championship in Sweden. At the 1972 München Olympics, he also won the silver medal after Czechoslovakia lost to Yugoslavia in the tournament’s final.
