Biography

Pat Neder was an all-around athlete who played both basketball and softball at Winona State University in Minnesota. In basketball she was a four-time All-Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) and an All-NAIA District 13 selection. In softball Neder was a three time All-NSIC selection, and was also three-times named All-NAIA.

After college Neder played for US national teams in both handball (team) and rugby football. She won gold in handball at the 1991 Pan American Games, and also competed internationally at the 1993 and 1995 World Championships and the 1995 Pan American Games. In rugby Neder played in the 2004 Canada Cup, the 2005 World Cup, and the 2006 World Championships.

Neder became a middle-school teacher in Smyrna, Georgia. She was inducted into the Winona State Sports Hall of Fame in 2006.
