Biography

Al Stefani was born in Kovel at which time it was a part of Poland, and came to Canada in 1934 where he was raised in Hamilton, Ontario. A member of the Leander Rowing Club, in 1948 he was a member of the club’s delegation to the London Olympics in the coxed eights event.

Stefani later immigrated to the United States in 1955 where became a naturalized citizen in 1959. He settled in Valencia, California, where he resided until his death in 1992.
