Biography

German rower Karsten Finger was a member of the coxed fours crew that won the silver medal at the 1992 Barcelona Olympics, when this event was held for the last time at the Games. The crew was subsequently awarded the Silver Bay Leaf, Germany’s highest sports award. Also in 1992, the same four won the national title. Finger then turned to coxed pairs and finished second and third in the nationals in the following years. In 2013, Finger became chairman of the Rowing Association of Berlin.
