Biography

Rower Günther Karl from Passauer RV partnered with Franz Held at the 1968 Mexico City Olympics in the coxless pairs, but they missed the final, ranking 12th. In 1969 Karl won the bronze medal with the Deutschland-Achter (German Eights) at the European Championships. He finished second at the West German nationals in the coxed eights in 1967 and 1969, and was third in 1968 with Passauer RV.
