Biography

Riccardo Dei Rossi competed at three Olympics from 1992-2000, with his best result coming at his third attempt. On that occasion, the Italian coxless four of Dei Rossi, Valter Molea, Lorenzo Carboncini and Carlo Mornati finished just 38 hundredths of second behind the Great Britain gold-medal winning crew, led by Steven Redgrave. Dei Rossi won two gold and two coxless fours bronze medals at the World Championships. After his retirement from competitive rowing, Dei Rossi became chief executive officer of the boatbuilders Arzanà Navi, where he supervised the building of two 50-metre vessels. He returned to rowing in 2014, hoping to promote the sport in Treviso with the Circolo Canottaggio Ospedalieri.
