Carol Vereş rowed the coxless four for Romania at the 1964 Tokyo Olympic Games. Vereş won a silver medal in coxed pairs at the 1962 World Championships. He won four medals (2 silver, 2 bronze) at the European Championships in 1957, 1958, and 1961, and was a 13-time Romanian Champion. Vereş later became a coach for youth rowing.
