While at Yale, Emory Clark captained the crew team in 1960, but won no major championships. His big titles came later, as he joined the Vesper BC and was a member of the 1964 pairs with national champion. Clark later went to law school, earning a J.D. from Michigan in 1971, and later practiced as an attorney. He continued to row in masters events, winning a gold medal at an international masters’ regatta in Heidelberg, West Germany in 1981.
