Biography

Arthur Evans rowed at Harvard, graduating in 1969, and then went to medical school at the University of Cincinnnati, earning his MD degree in 1974. Evans went into obstetrics and gynecology, doing his residency at the Mayo Clinic, and then did a fellowship in maternal and fetal medicine at U Cal Davis. He went into academic medicine, holding appointments at the Mayo Medical School; University of California, Irvine Medical Center; University of California, Davis; Eastern Virginia Medical School; and the University of Kentucky. He also served as director of maternal and fetal medicine at the University of Kentucky’s Chandler Medical Center and at Eastern Virginia Medical School. In 2003 Evans was named professor and chairman of ob-gyn at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, and in 2007 he was named to the same post at the University of Cincinnati.
