Biography

Barry Downs competed in free pistol shooting at the 1968 Mexico City Olympics. Free pistol was his favorite event, winning Australian titles with it in 1966, and 1968-69, also taking a silver medal in 1967 and a bronze in 1970. Downs also won the 1970 Australian air pistol title, the first time it was contested at the national championships, and repeated in that event in 1973.
