Biography

Josef Fröwis was an Austrian sport shooter who participated at the 1960 Rome Olympics. He competed at two events with the small-bore rifle; in the three positions he placed ninth, and over 50 metres he was eliminated in the qualification round. Fröwis also qualified for the 1964 Tokyo Games, but the Austrian Shooting Federation withdrew shortly before the Games.

Fröwis won 20 national titles. He participated in two World Championships and three Europeans with a sixth place at the 1958 Worlds as his best international result. He ran a specialist hunting, sports, and fishing shop in Feldkirch.
