Biography

Mohamed Mehrez was Egypt’s top trap shooter of the 1960s and won several national titles in that event over the course of the decade. He twice represented his country at the Olympics, placing 10th in 1964 and 19th in 1968, but was more successful at the World Championships. In 1962 (with Egypt competing officially as the United Arab Republic) he took bronze in the trap team with Badir Shoukri, Hussam El-Badrawi, and the non-Olympian Youssef Saleh. He repeated this feat in 1969, this time with Mounir Saleh Sabet, Assem Daly, and Medhat Wahdan. By career he was a teacher and also worked as a shooting instructor and coach.
