Biography

Burckhardt Hoppe was an East German trap shooter who missed the Olympic podium twice very closely. He came in an unfortunate fourth both at the 1972 München and the 1976 Montréal Summer Games. In 1980, at Moscow, he finished eighth. In 1973 and 1978 he won the European Championships in the skeet event.
