Biography

Hailing from the United States Virgin Islands Gary Berne spent his time fishing, hunting, and swimming before enlisting in the US Army. After serving in Korea Berne founded his own company, Berne’s Ice Plant, which supplied ice to the annual carnival on the islands. He was a keen skeet shooter who competed in events across the Caribbean, Central America, and the United States. Berne was selected to represent the United States Virgin Islands at the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics, where he finished in 62nd place.
