Edoardo Casciano

Edoardo Casciano was, alongside the 1956 Olympic champion Galliano Rossini, one of the best Italian trap shooters in the second half of the 1950s. Casciano won the 1956 Barcelona Grand Prix and the French Championship with the national team in 1958. He was third at the World Championships in Moskva that same year. At the 1959 Worlds in Egypt, Casciano won the team title and was runner-up in the individual event, behind the local hero Hussam El-Badrawi.

Having disappointed at the 1960 Italian championship, Casciano recovered in 1962 to win two gold medals at the European Championships, in the individual, beating the Frenchman Michel Carrega), and in the team event. His last important outstanding achievement was at the 1967 Europeans when he won gold with 200/200, although he was runner-up the following year. Casciano was awarded a Gold Medal by the Italian Olympic Committee in honor of his career.
