Steve Winkler

In addition to working as a dentist Steve Winkler also served as an international figure skating judge and referee. Winkler started officiating as a trial judge, taking 16 years to qualify to become a national judge. In comparison, it only took him a mere eight years to qualify as a dentist. He served for more than 45 years as an official at international competitions, including judging events at the 1998 Nagano and 2006 Torino Olympics.
