Biography

Jill Johnson was a breaststroker who swam in college at Stanford. She was NCAA champion in the 200 breast as a senior, in 1990. She competed internationally that year at both the Goodwill Games and the World Championships, finishing fourth in both events in the 200 breast. In 1991 she was chosen for the Pan Pacific team, placing 10th. Johnson made the 1992 US Olympic team while she was studying in law school. She retired after the Barcelona Olympics to focus on her studies. She later used her legal degree to serve as legal liaison for USA Swimming to the US Olympic Committee and serving on the USOC Athlete’s Advisory Council.
