Biography

At the 1968 Final Trials, Jane Swagerty finished second to Kaye Hall in the 100m backstroke. At the Olympics she again placed behind Miss Hall and with the favored Canadian, Elaine Tanner, also finishing ahead of her, she took the bronze medal. Jane Swagerty, who represented the Santa Clara AC and the University of the Pacific, also swam in the heats of the medley relay at the Mexico Olympics.
