Biography

Larry Barbiere swam for Indiana University from 1970-73, helping them win NCAA team titles in 1972-73.. His best year was 1968 when he won the AAU title outdoors in the 100 metre backstroke, and placed third in the AAU indoors 100 yard back and the Olympic Trials 100 backstroke. In 1970 he won the 100 yard backstroke at the NCAA Championships and was an 11-time All-American at Indiana. His son, Jim, later swam at Indiana University, while his daughter, Emily, was a swimmer at Miami University in Ohio.
