Biography

Fred Tyler swam for Indiana University, winning the 200 yard IM in 1975, and swimming for winning 4x200 freestyle relay teams in 1973-75. During his college career Tyler earned 14 All-American certificates. Tyler later became a coach, coaching swimming and water polo at West Orange High School in Winter Garden, Florida from 1979-89. In 1990 he moved to Lake Mary High School in Lake Mary, Florida. He was named Seminole Athletic Conference and Florida State 3A Coach of the Year in 2004-05. Tyler also teaches social studies and mathematics to exceptional education students.
