Vicky Bullett played college basketball at the University of Maryland (1985-89), where she led the Terrapins to three ACC titles and one Final Four. She was All-ACC in 1987, 1988, and 1989, and in 1989 was named ACC Player of the Year and an All-American. Her #23 jersey was later retired by Maryland and she was named to the Maryland Athletics Walk of Fame.

Bullett played for the USA at the 1988 and 1992 Olympics, winning gold in 1988, and bronze in 1992. She also won a gold medal at the 1990 World Championships and the 1990 Goodwill Games. From 1990-97 Bullett played professional basketball in Italy, with Bari from 1990-93 and Cesena from 1993-97. She was a four-time All-Star in the Italian League. She also played for several years in Brazil with the Data Control / Fluminense team, winning a Brazilian league title in 1998.

In 1997 Bullett joined the Charlotte Sting of the WNBA, leading them to the play-offs for three consecutive years. In 2000 she was traded to the Washington Mystics. She retired from the WNBA in 2002 but continued to play overseas through 2007. During her time with the Mystics, Bullett returned to the University of Maryland to earn a graduate degree in social work. She taught for the Board of Education I West Virginia for a time, but later went into coaching, starting in 2009 as an assistant with the Mystics and then as their manager of basketball operations. She then coached at Hagerstown Community College in Maryland and soon after, became head coach at West Virginia Wesleyan. Bullett was inducted into the Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame in 2011. The street where she grew up in Martinsburg, West Virginia was renamed “Vicky Bullett Street” in her honor.
