Biography

Yevgeny Krasilnikov started playing high-level volleyball with Dynamo Moskva in 1983 and played with them until 1993. During his 10-year stay with Dynamo Moskva, Krasilnikov won four silvers (1984, 1985, 1988 and 1989) and two bronzes (1983 and 1986) at the Soviet championships, bronze at the 1992 CIS championships and another bronze at the 1993 Russian championships. After winning bronze at the 1993 Russian championships, Krasilnikov moved to Turkey, joining Halkbank Ankara and won the 1993 Turkish title with them. In 1994, Krasilnikov won another Turkish title with Halkbank Ankara, but then moved back to Russia and was with Levsha Tula from 1994-95. From 1995-96 Krasilnikov played again in Turkey with Elmakbank Ankara and then from 1996-2000 played club volleyball in Poland and from 2000-02 played in Israel. Krasilnikov finished his career with Zorky Krasnogorsk from 2002-2008.

Internationally, after winning the 1984 European Junior Championships and 1985 World Junior Championships with the Soviet national junior team, Krasilnikov moved up to the Soviet and later Russian national team from 1988-96. He won multiple international medals with those teams as follows: Olympic silver in 1988, bronze at the 1990 World Championships, gold at the 1991 World Cup, bronze at the 1989 World Cup, silver at the 1993 World League, bronzes at the 1991 and 1996 World Leagues, gold at the 1991 European Championships and bronze at the 1993 European Championships. Krasilnikov also competed at the 1992 Olympics, at the 1990, 1992, 1994 and 1995 World Leagues and at the 1989 European Championships. After finishing his sporting career, Krasilnikov worked as a children’s coach with Zorky Krasnogorsk.
