Biography

Austrian Greco-Roman wrestler Bartl Brötzner, father of Bartholomäus Brötzner, participated in three editions of the Olympics: 1952 Helsinki, 1956 Melbourne, and 1960 Rome. He was fifth in the featherweight in Helsinki, an unfortunate fourth in the lightweight division at Melbourne, and 12th at Rome, also in the lightweight division. Nationally, Brötzner won ten individual titles and nine team titles with AC Wals. He also won one German team title with AC Bad Reichenhall. Brötzner later filmed and documented several wrestling matches with AC Wals.
