Biography

Giacomo Gesino was an Italian Greco-Roman wrestler. In his international career he collected 14 caps, with his début in 1947 at the Italy-Czechoslovakia match in Venezia and then competing at the 1947 European Championships in Praha. He was very active in 1948, with five international meetings, with the highlight at the London Olympics where he was eliminated after the third bout by the eventual bronze medallist Kàroly Ferencz.

In the following years, alternating two weight classes (light and welter), Gesino won the 1949 Mediterranean Championship in Palermo, participated in the 1950 World Championships in Stockholm, and then quit the sport at the end of 1951, after winning the Lido di Albaro Trophy in Genova and the Città di Salsomaggiore Trophy.
