Biography

Alfred Gundersen withdrew after losing to Finland’s August Jokinen in round 1 after less than 3 min in the middleweight A of the Greco-Roman competition. Gundersen was runner-up at the 1912 and 1913 Norwegian Championships in the middleweight A. After a long break, he returned in 1920 to place second in the heavyweight.

Later, he was treasurer of the Norwegian Wrestling Federation and acted as referee and team leader at the 1924 Olympic Games in Paris.
