Biography

Amazingly, Stan Dziedzic won his Olympic medal using American collegiate moves rather than adjusting to the international style. Dziedzic wrestled collegiately at Slipper Rock State (PA), where he won the 1971 NCAA title at 150 lbs. He also won the 1974 and 1976 AAU Championships and the 1975 World Cup, beating the favored Soviet, Ruslan Ashuraliyev. In 1977, Dziedzic became one of the first Americans to win a World Championship. He later became a wrestling coach.
