Biography

Paul Coppejans was a Belgian pole vaulter who appeared at the 1964 Tokyo Olympics. He competed in 46 internationals for Belgium, including the 1958 and 1966 European Championships, placing 21st in the 1958 final. Coppejans won seven Belgian outdoor titles consecutively from 1962-68, and bettered the national record several times, bringing it to 4.73 in 1966. Having earned a physical education diploma in the army, Coppejans worked as a track coach and, for Walloon governmental service ADEPS, trainer of coaches.
