Terry Tobacco had the following podium finishes at major championships: 2nd in the 1954 British Empire and Commonwealth Games 4×440 yards relay (with Doug Clement, Joe Foreman, and Laird Sloan), 3rd in the 1954 British Empire and Commonwealth Games 440 yards, 3rd in the 1958 British Empire and Commonwealth Games 440 yards. In the 1958 British Empire and Commonwealth Games 4×440 yards relay (with Doug Clement, George Shepherd, and Joe Mullins) Tobacco finished fourth.

Personal Bests: 100y – 9.8 (1953); 400 – 46.3 (1959).
