Biography

Stanisław Olejniczak was one of the best basketball players to represent Poland. For the national team, he played in 121 matches, where he scored 628 points.

At club level, Olejniczak played for Lech Poznań from 1957 to 1963, and for Legia Warszawa from 1963 to 1971. He won the Polish national championships on three occasions, and was twice a runner-up. In 1963, Olejniczak won a silver medal at the European Basketball Championship in Wrocław. The following year, Olejniczak was part of the Polish team that finished in sixth place at the 1964 Tokyo Olympics. He was later decorated with the Knight’s Cross of the Order of Polonia Restituta.
