Biography

Barbara Burke had the following podium finishes at major championships: 1st in the 1938 British Empire Games 80 metres Hurdles. In the 1934 British Empire Games 110-220-110 yards relay (with Marjorie Clark and the non-Olympian Doris Morgan) Burke finished fourth. She also competed in the 1934 British Empire Games 100 yards as well as in the 220 yards, but was eliminated in the heats in both occasions. In the 1938 British Empire Games she finished fourth in the 100 yards and fifth in the 220 yards. In the British Empire Games she competed for South Africa.

Personal Best: 100 – 12.1 (1937).
