Biography

After placing third in the 1928 Poly marathon, Herb Bignall finished fourth in the AAA race (2-45:10) and showed almost identical form (2-45:44) in Amsterdam to place 21st in the Olympic marathon. The following year he again finished third in the Poly and in 1930 he improved to take second place. Later in 1930 he placed fifth in the Empire Games marathon.

Personal Best: Mar – 2-44:02.0 (1930).
