Biography

Cyril Porter was the winner for Oxford vs. Cambridge in the cross-country match in 1911 and placed second on the track in the 3 miles the following year. At the Stockholm Olympics he as a finalist in the 5K and, as third scoring Briton, won a bronze medal in the 3K team race. A student at Brasenose College, he graduated in 1912 and was ordained that year. In 1922 he became vicar of Ewyas Harold, Herefordshire, and remained there until his retirement.
