Biography

Although only fourth in the 1928 AAA long jump, Reginald Revans was the leading Briton and was selected for the Olympics. He again placed fourth at the 1933 AAAs. After second in the long jump at the 1930 Oxford vs. Cambridge sports, he won the event the following year, when he also competed in the long jump. Revans was second in the triple jump as well as in the long jump at the 1930 British Empire Games. He also competed in the 1930 British Empire Games High Jump. An internationally respected academic in the field of industrial education, he was a lecturer at many distinguished institutions, including the University of Michigan, and Southern Methodist University (SMU).

Personal Bests: LJ – 7.20 (23-7½) (1929); TJ – 14.29 (46-10¾) (1930).
