Biography

Race walker Burkhard Leuschke finished an unfortunate fourth in the 50 km at the 1964 Tokyo Olympic Games and retired during the race four years later in Mexico City. Leuschke was East German Champion in the 35 km in 1963. He later took part in several ultra-race walking events, and also competed in half marathons and marathons.

Personal Best: 50kmW – 4-05:25 (1969).
