Biography

Christian Rudolph, a 400 hurdler, could not finish the semifinals at the 1972 München Olympics when he tore his Achilles tendon just before the finish, which led to his immediate retirement. Before the Olympics he earned a silver medal at the 1971 European Championships and came in fourth one year earlier at the European Cup. Rudolph was East German Champion in 1970-72. He was a high school teacher for sports and law in Cottbus.

Personal Best: 400H – 49.34 (1971).
