Biography

Sprinter Sören Schlegel reached the second round of the 100 metres at the 1980 Moskva Olympics. He also was a member of the sprint relay, finishing fifth. Nationally he was East German indoor champion in the 60 metres and 100 yards in 1981, setting his only world record in the indoor 100 yards. Schlegel was also outdoor runner-up in the 100 metres in 1980.
