Biography

Hurdler Gabi Roth reached the semifinals of the 100 hurdles at the 1992 Barcelona Olympics, but did not qualify for the final. She finished third at the 1992 World Cup and sixth with the sprint relay. At the 1990 European Championships Roth retired in the final due to an injury and won the silver medal with the sprint relay. She participated in the 1989 World Indoors and the European Indoors from 1987-89 winning the bronze medal over 60 hurdles in 1989.

Domestically Roth won West German titles in the 100 hurdles in 1990, and the indoor 60 hurdles in 1989 and 1992. She married handball player Ulrich Roth who won a silver medal at the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics, although they later divorced. By profession she was a sports teacher.

Personal Best: 100H – 12.82 (1990).
