Biography

Dieter Richter from SC Motor Jena earned one international cap for East Germany in 1966. He also was nominated for the inter-national qualifications, when his team lost the first match against West Germany 4-2 in West Berlin, and then won the return match 1-0 in Jena. Therefore two more matches had to be played. East Germany again won in Jena 1-0, but now the return match tied 2-2, and East Germany qualified for the 1964 Tokyo Games. Richter was an alternate in Tokyo and did not play any matches.
