Biography

Frank Mäusert from SC Leipzig earned 14 international caps for East Germany between 1957 and 1964. He also played the international qualifications, when East Germany lost the first match against West Germany 4-2 in West Berlin, and then won the return match 1-0 in Jena, requiring two more matches to be played. East Germany again won in Jena 1-0, but then tied the return match 2-2, and East Germany qualified for the 1964 Tokyo Games. Mäusert was an alternate in Tokyo and did not play any match.

Mäusert was a longtime sports administrator and president of HC Lindenau Grünau Leipzig. He was a longtime coach with the Field Hockey Association of the former GDR (1965-74 and 1990), and also with the Race Canoeing Association of the former GDR (1975-89).
