Thorsten Dauth was a decathlete, but also an active football player and bobsledder. As a decathlete he took part in the 1995 World Championships, withdrawing after the high jump. At the 1992 Barcelona Olympics he placed seventeenth. In 1991 and 1995 he was runner-up at the West German Championships and placed third in 1990 and 1993. In 1994 he was part of the German Championship 4×100 m relay team. As a bobsledder he was runner-up at the 1999 Hessian Regional Championships in two-man and was third at the 2003 German Championships.
As a football player Dauth was goalkeeper of Kickers Offenbach and KSV Klein Karben in the fourth German League. From 1997-2003 he was player and coach of TSV Usingen. Since 2012 he has worked as a fitness coach for Kickers Offenbach in the German Third League.
