Biography

Race walker Friedrich Prehn participated in the 1936 Berlin Olympics in the 50 km but was disqualified after 42.5 km. In 1937, 1939 and 1949 he won German titles over this distance, adding five more national podiums. His sons Friedrich, Jr. and Karl-Heinz Prehn both became nationally successful race walkers.
