Biography

Willi Wagner was a West German steeplechaser, who was eliminated in the heats at both the 1968 Mexico City and the 1972 München Olympic Games. The same happened at the 1971 Europeans. He was also nominated for the 1969 European Championships but due to the West German boycott concerning the scandal around middle distance runner Jürgen May, he could not start. In 1969 and 1972 Wagner was West German champion in the steeplechase. By profession, Wagner was a wine grower in Bad Dürkheim.

Personal Best: 3000S – 8:26.2 (1973).
