Biography

Hans Wichmann was imprisoned by the Soviets as a POW during World War II and only returned to Germany in 1953. In 1928-29 and 1932 he was German Champion in the 1,500, adding three relay titles in the 3x1000 and 4x1500. At the 1928 Amsterdam Games Wichmann came in an unfortunate fourth. By profession, he was an engineer.
