Biography

Norwegian track and field athlete Rolf Schønheyder represented Idrettsforeningen Vestheim in Oslo where he specialised as a sprinter. He won his first medal at the national championships in 1933 with bronze in the 200 metres. One year later Schønheyder completed the double, becoming the Norwegian champion in the 200 and 400 metres, a feat he repeated in 1936 when his performances earned him a place on the Olympic team, where he ran in the 400 metres at Berlin.
