Biography

Born in Hackney, London, Emmanuel Goldsmith later moved to Switzerland, becoming a sprinter for the national team. As one of the fastest sprinters in the country at the time Goldsmith was selected to compete at the 1928 Amsterdam Olympics. He was eliminated in his heat in the 100 metres but reached the final of the 4 × 100 metres relay, finishing in fifth place with the Swiss team.

Personal Best: 100 – 10.8 (1930).
